Custom Order for Jenn!

Here is Jenn's order ~ 1 Small Twilight, 2 Small Élégance Classique and 1 Small Mermaid Fitted.  I loved working on this order, Jenn gave me a bit of freedom with the colors to be used (as long as they were girly) and to choose from the selection of decorative stitching she prefered.  Gotta love that, puts to work my creative side and I love surprising the customer!  Mental note; Maybe list a few surprise me slots next time I stock on HC.

Customs for Dear Erin

So I have this great customer who shops with me from time to time, I just LOVE return customers, thanks Erin!  Favorite thing about a WAHM-customer relationship is how much more personal it is than let's say, my relationship with Walmart (ok that's just an example, I have no relationship with Walmart as I refuse to shop there, but you get my drift).

My dear customer Erin has put in an order for 2 Twilights, 2 AI2s and a Koi fitted.  This Koi fabric has history, the very first diaper she bought from me was with this print, and she tells me that is how it all started for her.  Original design, and I hear the medium size still fits her 29lbs+ child (woohoo!).  Anyways, here is her custom, it was a PLEASURE making this custom for you girl!  (Warning: Pic heavy!)

Next up:  Working on Jenn's custom order (the mermaid is finished!), and Rebecca's 2 Twilights (the winner of this auction, thank you!).   

Custom order for 3 Élégance Classique Fitted Diapers

This custom order was truly a pleasure to work on, the mama who ordered is a sweetheart, I hope to work again with her in the future!  She requested 3 large fitted diapers with bamboo velour inner and outer, and 3 elegant decorative stitching designs.  Here they are!

In business news, my long awaited roll of organic bamboo cotton fleece arrived today.  The downside; It wasn't organic bamboo cotton but just regular organic cotton!  SO, called the company and they have shipped the right roll today, and I will be receiving it very early next week!  A mild delay but I do not have any orders waiting on this particular fabric that are supposed to be started this week.  A good thing to do is to plan for these situations so customers aren't kept waiting, which I am glad I did!

Customers have been asking me when I will be stocking next.  I am SUPER excited to say that my congo Wonderful World is having a very special stocking February 2nd at 8pm.  We are stocking with a theme this month, with the song What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.  Look for some AMAZING items from the talented women who are a apart of this congo, you do not want to miss this

I will also be stocking my own store The Cloth Canoe at the end of February.  It has already been a year since I started selling in my own cart on HC and I am ready to celebrate!  I will be collaborating with amazingly talented WAHMs.  Look for lotteries, deals and wonderful products!

More Twilights than you can stuff in a canoe!

I've been crazy busy with working on custom orders this past week!  I was lucky enough to have both kids take a nice long nap on Saturday, and on Sunday their grandparents took them for the day (thank you!!).  So, here is what I've been working on!

For Diane, we did a trade, I received an amazing pair of little felted mittens with matching hat, and she is getting a large Twlight Canoe with purple varigated Bikes stitching.

For a wonderful customer from the board Diaper Swappers a medium Lilypad Twilight, a Large purple camper vans Twilight, a natural bamboo velour Trim fitted with varigated green leaves stitching, and a half dozen each of minkee liners and heavy pads!

For Robin, a custom Twilight with simple leaves decorative stitching...

And for Teresa, a custom Premium Minkee bamboo velour prefold...

It's been a very busy weekend indeed!  There are a few surprises not listed too :) .

After the new year I've been meaning to get right back into it, but haven't had the chance much with my husband working so much away from home.  Now that he had a few days off and the inlaws took the chance to visit with the kids, I got to hide in my studio, listening to MY music for a change and rocking at the sound of my sewing machine purring away.  Knock on wood but WOW did it ever perform well (for what I paid for it it darn well should too!).  And the serger did not hiccup and act up either, hehee.  Hurray for a wonderful weekend sewing and getting these custom orders to my customers earlier than planned!

Stephanie's customs

Just a quick little note to post the 2 large AI2s Stephanie has ordered!  Love the colors she chose, I'm especially in love with the aqua and pink, I would have never thought of that combo.  I also sent a few more photos to Stephanie this morning!Today I am working on Jane's order!  The house is quiet, DS is sleeping, the others are gone to work and school, so I get to work uninterupted.  I've done a major cleaning of the workplace/sewing room, it helps having a pristine place to go to!  Let's not talk about the upstairs, sigh, it seems cleaning isn't my forte, the house is always kept clean as in there is no junk everywhere, but with kids there has to be toys and books laying around, as well as outside boots, jackets and such in the doorway.  Oh well, it's part of having kids, which I wouldn't trade for the most cleanest place on earth.  At least my work area is perfect just the way I want it, hehee!

Customs from Dec 2's stocking at Wonderful World

What a funny thing, last week's customs were blue, and this week they are pink!  I have just finished the 2 semi-customs purchased at Wonderful World last Sunday.  Both were made with amazing designer prints, one being Pink Bikes on White by Heather Ross (I think it's my current fave!), here are a few photos! And look at these adorable owls on a pink background, we love owls around here! Of course, with an inner of organic bamboo velour, yummy! I will be shipping these tomorrow!  I'm also going to be working on my customs list tonight, if you don't see your name on the left side of this blog yet, don't worry, it'll be there by tomorrow!PSA:  I would just LOVE to accomodate everyone with their custom requests, but I do have to stress that until January I will not be able to take on anymore customs, due to Christmas being around the corner.  Thank you so much for understanding!

Vroom-Vroom!

These 2 Twilights are for 2 different customers, but both wanted cars as the decorative stitching, so I snapped a pic together :) .

I love the little decorative stitching of cars, DS has a Twilight very similar to these ones.  I also made a few custom Lg fitteds for my friend Janine, here they are;

Today I am again joining the knitting circle at my local yarn shop.  It is wonderful that they offer this, every Sunday from 1 to 5 you can go knit and chat with other women.  I didn't go last week, I cannot wait to go today!  Speaking of which I need to get ready, have a great weekend everyone!

Today's Customs

I finished a few customs today and thought I'd post them up on my blog :) .  Maria from Made by Maria and I are doing a trade again, as always I cannot wait to see what she has made, I know I've got a few card holders and a wetbag and wallet coming, with a matching key fob, in some pretty amazing prints.  In exchange I'm making her a few Large fitteds, with some of my fave prints and decorative stitching.  Here's her Peas in a Pod trim fitted; And right here we have a large Twilight Canoe organic bamboo cotton fitted with the soaker topped in handyed purple BV.  Extra soaker and front of diaper stitched with a purple varigated bicycle stitching.  Yummy! I've also finished a few medium AI2s for a customer, love the colors she chose! On the agenda for this week ~ Work on Lisa's customs Twilight as well as a few trades.  Also work on my store's stocking (Nov 29 at 8pm at www.theclothcanoe.com!).  Here are a few previews!  I also have to work on a few pairs fingerless mitts that I have going right now!  I'm finished with 1 but I have lost my darning needles (sp?), oops.  I'm supposed to run to the store tonight for one, we'll see how we feel later on after supper.  There's also the million and one things I want to make and create for Christmas, but oh my, have I set the bar too high this year?  I think everyone on my list are supposed to be getting something handmade.  Back to work!
